Color really affects me and I might not have known had it not been for my first house having a yellow kitchen.  I've never loved cooking, but have never hated it or avoided it either, and I found myself really not enjoying my kitchen.  My next house 12 years later and it had a white kitchen with soft blue accents and I LOVED being in there.....  and it was the color yellow.  I've never had another yellow kitchen, I know for sure it was the color that was affecting me.  My most soothing colors are shades of Taupe, tan and brown (I never get tired of them) and when we moved into the house we're in now we had it entirely painted, several shades of Taupe and I love every room....

I really like most, but not all, shades of the color yellow but find it one of the most difficult colors to work with as far as interiors and decor are concerned. I've tried and tried and always find it challenging and also that my tolerance for much yellow is very sort-term, so now I just avoid it other than occasionally in easily changed out accessories. As for paint, definitely not. I might and have opted for a more golden hue, but I'll almost certainly never paint a room yellow.

I love it.  My great room accent wall is a cheery shade of yellow. It really brightens the place.

@wilma I love the yellow rooms and personally have one in my home currently.  Life is dark enough so the yellow is like sunshine to the home, sign me up.

Lots of yellow in my house--brighter shade in the sun room with more muted beige/yellow shade in other rooms

I like the first one pictured but not the others.

We have a beautiful yellow guest room (lots of work to get pale shade just right) with black oriental poster bed and small dresses.  I just love that room!
