Personally, I don't kike built ins, but when they are the same color as the walls, it looks more formal.

I like same color and contrast however yellow is not one of the colors I would choose.

I'd not opt for that brilliant yellow for either the walls or the built-ins, but don't have a problem with the walls and built-ins being the same color. I also don't mind if the built-ins offer contrast. In this instance, I think the monochromatic look is as nice as it can be give the choice of colors.

I prefer a bit of contrast with my built-ins so I wouldn’t want them the same color as the walls. I can see how it might help in a small room though. I like a pale creamy yellow on walls, but this yellow is way too bright for me.

I prefer white or wood for built ins. However, this shade of yellow is harsh and off putting so the whole room doesn't work for me.

For me it depends on the room and the design style....

I'm not fond of yellow---the pale shades are okay but don't care for the deep yellow color nor the furniture and style of this room................

@lolakimono my opinion...when the room is small, it may be better to have no contrast, althougy I am not fond of the tint of the yellow; if the room is large then I like the contrast in color.

Oh, sweet mother.  I LOVE yellow, but this shade makes my eyes bleed.  Heck, having the built in's a different color wouldn't make much difference to me in this case.
