I looked at YHJ page to see what is on this evening. Nothing I'm interested in....like beds and linens.
But....I did enjoy Caroly's Fall decorating show yesterday morning. It was fast and lively and early for me! Not to say, some things I bought last year were shown and gave me ideas to think about when I get to doing my inside decorating. I have to wait to do the decorating, usually it happens on the first day of fall weekend, but this year, DH is finally finishing up the installation of floors, then some more painting, then we're off to Indiana and Ohio visiting. So it will have to wait.

The Home Reflections turkey and cornucopia were just horrible, after not posting the pictures forever, I cannot believe how they looked, I would have been embarrassed to have even shown them!
hooty,
If you have a Hobby Lobby near you, they have metal pumpkins and the prices are a lot more reasonable than the Q. Also, there is always a 40% off coupon on their website. I'm signed up for their weekly e-mails so I get to see what is on sale for the coming week and also get a 40% off coupon. You will also find a lot of Valerie Parr Hill items there. If they are not exactly the same, they are pretty close. A lot of the items from Lisa Robertson's Christmas shows are also there for far less. Even if they are not exactly the same, they come very close and, to me, the price difference is worth it. They are, most likely, all made in the same Chinese factory. Give them a try.
I couldn't agree with you more regarding the turkey and the cornucopia...hideous. I would never be able to try to push those atrocious gargoyles on consumers. Shame on the Q.

QVC : Product DetailH20556919" Illuminated Wrought Iron and Wood Lantern by Home ReflectionsI almost ordered that one, BornToShop. It's not the same ol' lantern -- I like it! However, I spotted this one and purchased it:
H205575
I love that look & especially the no candle obligation. It is on my wishlist. If I don't like the one coming, it will be going & this one will be coming my way soon. Let me know how you like it when you get it!
BorntoShop -- this lantern is gorgeous! The photo does not do it justice! The iron twisting is so unique and beautifully done; it gives the lantern a lovely gracefulness. The flowers resemble a slight pineapple design. The description is true -- cannot use a candle larger than 3" diameter, but I think you can have it taller than 6" (flameless).
@Caaareful Shopper, It's so nice of you to provide this information bolded above. I did watch YHJ and I saw it presented, but Jill must be slipping, because I never heard her give any measurements or guidelines other than the height. Well, I did notice her try to force a Luminara out through the door, and it looked like it would've been a tight fit, scraping wax all the way.
I'm not interested in it for myself (I have so many other lanterns!) but I figured there might be disappointed people who get it home and perhaps find that they can't get a certain diameter candle in the door, or that it might be too deep for their mantel.
SHOPR, hands-down, one of my top three most favorite purchases this year. There is something so utterly charming about the minimalist look of the tiny lights instead of Luminaras or CI candles. I put some fall scatters in the base. I also put a round 4 1/2" glass dish used for melting or burning wax/oilon the top of the cylinder between the two birds. It will keep the dust out as my only concern was dusting inside the non-removable cylinder. Got the Dennis Basso trio lanterns & I am over the moon on these!
@BornToShop So glad you love the DB lanterns! I am really liking the large 20" lantern H205790. I think the flameless candles the lanterns come with, although are fixed in place, are removable. Do you think a Luminara candle will fit on the inside of it? If so, which size-height/diameter do you suggest?
I'm still looking forward to a presentation on these lanterns...maybe Thursday since DB has a TSV...

SL, the candle can be easily removed. The only Luminara size I would use is comparible to the one in the DB lantern; 6, 7 or 8" x 3". The 3" diameter is key due to the shape of the lantern. Anything bigger will limit the decorating on the inside, such as scatters, etc. I gotta tell ya', I am really liking the glow/hue of his flameless candles in this particular set of lanterns. I haven't decided if I want DH to perform surgery on those lanterns yet...let me know if you get the20"!

Did anyone order (or like) the Dennis Basso coverlet and sham set that was offered during last night's YHJ? I would appreciate your review of how it looks and especially how soft the micro mink side feels when you receive it.
I really liked the Cashmere color. I have one of DB's tree skirts and it is heavenly soft. This style is not something I would ordinally gravitate toward, since I usually go for patchwork quilts, but it really caught my eye for some reason, probably the stitching and pattern.
Dennis Basso Rococo King Quilted Micro Mink Coverlet and Sham Set
QVC Price: $154.00
Retail Value: $245.00

@BornToShop, QVC has really come through for you by offering unique lanterns lately. I'm glad you think they are all worthwhile purchases. I hope QVC continues this trend. Brilliant idea to cover the opening to prevent dust.
I added the VPH pumpkin for fun. Thanks for the validation on the wax/oil burner. Anything to minimize housekeeping chores...!

@BornToShop Thanks for responding with great info! I have taken notes. I think until I see a presentation, I'll have to remain on the fence. I forgot it was fashion day today, so no doubt will have to wait til later this month to see it in a presentation.
Why would you have your DH preform surgery on the lanterns? What did you want to change?

@BornToShop, So cute! Also I can't help but notice your fully decorated wire apothecary behind the lantern. They (I have two) are one of my favorite purchases.

Good morning SL, the "surgery" reference meaning having DH remove the DB candles & replacing with Luminaras. I have him do those little handy projects, that way if anything goes wrong, I can blame him, lol! I am on the fence of what to do. Bottom line, I am loving these lanterns regardless.
