Had to go there today for some wrapping paper, bows, etc. but came out with some really cute Fall/Halloween decor.

They had miniature Mercury glass pumpkins,and a great selection of other nice home decor. I bought these cute shelf sitting turkey, pilgrims and pumpkins.

And for a $1 no less when I was in Michaels today saw them at $6.99/each.

They were stRting to put out Christmas and I got 3 nice Mercury glass Christmas trees figured they wouldn't last long so better get them now!

Then I went to AC Moore what a great store.  Too bad we don't have them in FL!

good thing I don't have to go there to often ($ Tree) because I'd come out with more!

@homedecor1

I love Dollar Tree!  They always have the best stuff for fall and Halloween!  Sometimes their Christmas things are pretty good, too.  It's a great way to pick up a few things so you can have a fresh look or add on.  The craft stores can be quite pricey on a lot of items.  I am a big fan of the dollar places.

At Michael's, remember the 10% AARP discount.  Not sure if there' some at AC Moore...

I always ask if there's any discounts going on that day wherever I shop...even fast food places. You'd be surprised at what' s out there.

@Dawnie  Hi how are you doing?

I have never heard of that store... have heard of dollar/Michaels/ and Hobby Lobby!  Is AC Moore like any of these?

Dollar Tree is great! Hobby Lobby had similar tiny pumpkins for 3 times what you pay at D.T. Their holiday decorations are many and you can decorate your whole house inside and out for what you can pay for just one item elsewhere.

image.jpgWas wondering if a dollar store pumpkin could be painted with chalk paint (so people/kids could write their names on)?

Here they show one of these... Would the paint flake off, do you know? TIA

I went to Dollar Tree this morning to pick up a few things, and ended up buying a nice autumn orange cereal bowl there.  I didn't need one, but it was so enticing.  Now, I'm thinking of going back there before they're gone and get three more to make a set.  I can always use them to put candy in or condiments on a Thanksgiving table.  Love that store!

One Christmas when I was going through a very hard time, my daughter and I made an agreement that we would only buy our Christmas gifts to each other and her family at the Dollar Store.  It made me more selective in what I thought each person would like, and somehow made Christmas more meaningful as the focus wasn't on expensive gifts.
