It looks like they positioned it that way to make more room for when the chairs are pulled away from the table...If the table was positioned parallel either way, then it looks like it might be a tight squeeze for movement of the chairs due to the size of the room and also for ease of opening the French doors.
As others have mentioned, what first stood out to me and looked quite awkward were the tall urns with the floral arrangements that are just about hitting the chandelier and also the positioning of the picture?
If the urns were taken away and replaced by a low centerpiece, as well as removing that picture, I think that the overall look would be quite nice positioned this way....unique and different from the usual.

No---just horrible in all aspects!!!!

Yes, I'd do that.

Well, no but there isn't one thing I like about that room anyway.

I think it looks good. I angle all my counter stools at my counter.

Yes, I would angle a table.
But, no I would not do and/or use other things pictured here...
I do like the table however.

It's not for me. I had my bed angled in the corner of the bedroom for about a month. Couldn't stand it so I moved it back in its former position (against the wall).

I would do, and have done this. However, I'm not sure I like it in this particular room.
