My husband did the outside of ours on Thursday for me.

Would I have preferred he did a better job, yes, but I'm not looking a gift horse in the mouth and the ones that could have been done better are in the back of the house.

My neighbors across the street (3houses) all use Merry Maids Cleaning service to clean their windows, inside and outside. It can't be too expensive because my neighbors watch their pennies.

@speedy girl

A few years ago before I had tilt in windows I used a product by Fuller Brush that I would spray from hose.  It did a lovely job,  but hard to get up to second story.  Great for in between cleaning - it did work with screens on.

I use recipe from Heloise.  ...  Amonia, Dawn, rubbing alcohol and water

I just had mine done (24 windows) the guys did awesome job and charged $15/window.

My windows shined and sills & screens were done also.  I also have tilt windows and 5 sliders (large).

Best $$ I spent -- not getting me on 10ft ladder anytime soon😉

@Desertdi  That must've been so painful- I'm sorry that you injured yourself while trying to clean your windows.  How long did it take for your broken ribs to recover? You're strong to go through that and heal.

Normally we wash ours in spring and fall, but I'm rethinking that. Maybe once a year is good enough.

@Desertdi Yikes!  Dangerous job.

I was looking at my windows.  They could use a cleaning but I am going to wait until hurricane season is over or at least until the leaves are down.  No point in doing it before.

Re: Window Washing

I used to climb a 12-foot ladder to clean my windows. Now you couldn't pay me enough to do that any more. Instead I use an extendable pole to reach the windows and it works great.

ETA-

The last time I called a professional window washer, they told me there was a minimum charge and that they don't come and clean just one or two windows. I can't remember how many were needed to be cleaned for them to come out but the minimum charge was a couple hundred dollars and that was for the fewest number of windows. I decided it was too costly and did it myself.

@Natureluvr I will send it to you later today.  I apologize for the delay in responding.  I just got in late last night from a 3 week adventure in Italy.  Just catching up now Smiley Happy
