Looking to cover a 96" wide picture windows.
What would you do? TIA. LM

I have a 12 foot front window, 1 large picture window and 2 small windows that open/close. I put light filtering cellular blinds on mine, the kind that fit inside the frame. These let in lots of light but you can't see through them as well a you can the single cell blinds. I had to have the big picture window blind made to width. I got mine from Penney's years ago and they still look like new.

We have shutters on all our windows. Great for keeping the heat out.

@Lilysmom : that depends. Facing the street? Is privacy an issue? Light control? Or just for decor purposes. Also depends on the style of your decor.
When I planned to move I was looking at tons of houses on line. You might do the same for inspiration. I found that I liked the look of 2" white "wood" blinds.

We have roller shades in our condo with a valence. Our bedroom floor to ceiling windows are more than 96 inches wide. They come in different transparencies, easy to maintain and, IMO, very attractive. I do not like blinds except the cellular ones.

I have been in homes that have the roller shades (with a thin valence that tastefully hid the rolled shade) that @kaydee50 suggested. Looks polished, and gives you a paneramic view. I loved them. Nice option, I believe theirs was much wider area than 96" you have- maybe as wide as 120"? I'm sure they come smaller or larger.
*Just one thing, the row of homes they had no neighbors behind them, so the shade was pulled up from sun up to sun down, and no loss of privacy because they had nature behind them. Great suggestion tho for spacious window, i think you are on acreage if memory serves me right.

I did the same thing last year and it was completely worth it. I love the look and easy to dust.

One long dowel type rod holding 2 sets of short drapes.
The window faces the street but it's 2 stories up & a 100 ft from the street
I like being able to look out during the day.

Hi everyone. Thanks for the feedback. Not for my house and budget is
an issue so no plantation shutters. The window faces the woods and gets afternoon sun.
I am thinking blinds, either faux wood or roller. New home and money is tight. Living room in an open concept design. I am hoping Jan/Feb will bring some sales.
I am in Canada FYI. LM

I also went to Penny's many years ago and had light filtering blinds made for my windows. I have a valance along the top so when their open it hides the blind. Still look new. Best investment I ever made.
