Why Menards is my favorite store

I have seen people commenting on the Inglow candles at Menards. For those of you who may have access, note that they carry much much more. I joke that Menards will be where I retire. I already have their ditty down flat and my car could drive there on its own{#emotions_dlg.w00t}. Here are some reasons why:

Their sales begin on Sundays but last for at least 2 weeks. Further, most things that are on sale on Sunday you can find already marked down on the immediately preceding Saturday. So if you have your eye on something that isn't yet in a Sunday ad, a good time to shop there is on a Saturday to see if it is already marked for a Sunday sale.

Some great finds are the following:

Food items such as mac and cheese boxes (10 cents was a sale at one point), bagged whole bean coffee for less than 4.00, baking supplies (baking soda, etc really cheap), soup (typically 1.50 or less for Progresso all times), etc.

Unusual decorating things. I recent found a metallic paint that comes in a rainbow of beautiful colors and painted a gold accent wall in my bathroom. Also anything you need for household organization (shelving- they currently have a 4 shelf unit for 9.98 with a 10.00 rebate).

Gardening supplies galore. Love that they move the Christmas stuff (typically already marked down 50% weeks before) out right after the 25th and start putting out the seed trays, etc. (even when there is 2 feet of snow for the next 3 months!). Just picked up a cold frame for less than 30.00

Batteries are also really cheap. Just picked up a pack of 30 AA for less than 9.00.

For any of you who may not want to venture out to a Menards thinking that it is a lumber store, check it out sometime.

1. The garden supplies appear shortly after Christmas!
