Hi lucy! Not sure they morph into colors. They were just shining white when I saw them.

I'm happy with Lisa's; backing off the battery ops as I a am tired of replacing always dead batteries.

Lisa's do continue to drop pieces everywhere when they are nudged or bumped. Only downside for me. The C trees looked like they do not shed pieces.
