What you need to know about WOOT.com

I have bought nearly 100 separate items from woot.com during the past several years.

I've been happy and/or well satisfied with the money saved and the items themselves.

For those totally unfamiliar with woot.com, It's a company based in a Dallas suburb that offers, with one exception, a single item that goes on sale at midnight CST and is replaced 24 hours later or when it sells out. The exception is when they run a woot-off periodically (maybe once a month) where they offer limited stock items that are replaced immediately when they sell out.

A typical example is yesterday's deal in which they offered a Ninja prep kitchen appliance which recently sold on infommercial for about $140. Woot's price was $34.99 plus $5 shipping. Woot's shipping fee is always $5, whether it's for a lawnmower or a bottle of wine. Recently most items have shipped via FedEX smartpost which rivals the USPS for "SLOW", but who can blame them. You have no shipping option and generally have to wait at least 2 weeks to receive your item.

Let the buyer beware that once ordered the item can't be cancelled and it can only be returned once received if it's defective or damaged. There are exceptions but you have to plead your case in an e-mail to customer service, no quick return forms like on many other mainstream internet vendors.
