What 'words' would describe your home?

[ Edited ]

I was thinking about my home today and how I would describe it to someone. I would use only two words for our home.......PEACEFUL and SOFT.

I try and make every room soft and especially peaceful. My home is my haven in this crazy world.

How would you describe your home?

Clean, Uncluttered, Comfy, Casual. Nothing fancy or formal for me. That's not me. Less is More. Makes it easier to keep clean. It's peaceful when the TV's not on.

@Regal Bee Based on your photos, I agree with your description of your home but would also add elegant and inspiring.

I would describe my home as tasteful and chic.

I guess I'd describe mine as casual and homey.   Some pieces are old, like a 49 year old hutch but most pieces are fairly new since we retired to the desert SW almost 17 years ago.  Whatever style it is, it works for us and it's definitely our favorite place to be.

Easygoing getaway. Bright and airy. We tried to work various blues into the design to link the interiors with the water and sky outside for peaceful indoor-outdoor harmony. We'e always been minimal and modern with a few antiques thrown into the mix. That simple approach is true here at the lake, too, but I purposely "aged" this house when we built it with vintage cottage pieces versus modern ones. Clean-lined yet cottagey galvanized metal chairs pull up to an antique harvest table, two bedrooms have curvy sleigh beds instead of straight-lined contemporary ones, and casual white-painted log chairs gather with a denim sofa by the fire. For feet-up ease, an "L"-shape banquette lines two walls of my favorite small den, and both the living room and family room have cozy window seats. Screen porches up and down are, to me, the ultimate yet simple luxury. We get up in the morning and throw open the doors to the porches so that we and the cats can move easily from inside to outside all day long. Ahhhhhhhhh.......

My SIL told me my home "feels like a hug." I'll take that!
