What is the least attractive item in your home?

When I moved in, I had the builder's hodgepodge of light fixtures. I had outdoor ones like these, except they were rusted shut so you couldn't change the light bulb.

I had these in the bathrooms. The original finish was silvertone, but when I moved in they were rusted out.

This was similar to the kitchen light box.

I found some good deals (and free shipping) from arcadianlighting.com.

I also had these faucets in the bathrooms and showers.

<img src=

My next ugliest problem area was the kitchen, so I just finished the renovations and it looks great.

When I have more cash reserves I'd like to get rid of the carpeting (new when I bought the house, but now starting to hump in places and flatten out.) I would like to have hardwood floors throughout, but I will probably start with the main floor and work my way up to the upstairs bedrooms.

I mean no offense if you have the above items in your house, but they weren't my style so I got rid of them.

What's "ugly" in your house and what would you like to change?
