I'm redoing floors, I read they should be 7% of ceiling height ( 10 ft ceiling= 7 inch). My LR has cathedral ceiling so I'm fine with them tall there but my FR/ kitchen is 10 feet and I'm concerned they will look too tall.

In the article below it says 5-7 inches for a 10 foot wall.

7/10 of a foot is 8.4 inches

I have 9' walls with 6" flat baseboards. When we built this cottage I wanted the look to be very cottagy. Hence my tall, flat, white baseboards.

8 foot ceiling Baseboard is 9 inches. 7 inch flat, plus 2 inch moulding that matches the crown molding on top.

My ceilings are 10 ft., baseboard is 7.5".
