Re: What do you wear to clean and mess about the house?

@Libbylady

That sounds like a perfect thing to have!  Don't you hate it when you find something like that and then they don't make them any more??

I think I kind of fall into that also.  I would say that most of my clothes are work or else they are dressy casual to go out and do things.  I wear P.J.s a lot, too.  I don't have much to use as "house" clothes as you have referred to them.  I would probably do well to do what you have done.

I wish I were like you!  I have tried this but always end up ruining something.

Good strategy!

I don't usually wear makeup at home any more since I have been having eye problems and rosaea.

My mother never wore house dresses.  She wore loose fitting dungarees (old word) with the hems rolled up and a cotton blouse  or a t-shirt.  She wore soft cotton socks and oxfords.  When I see old pictures of her she looks very modern and retro!!!!

You lead a busy lifestyle and dress accordingly!  Nothing wrong with that -- at all.  We were taught when we were young to do this.  Work clothes for work.  Play clothes for play.  Shool clothes for school.  And dress clothes for church or other occasions.

Being at home is for being comfortable - no matter what style of dress that entails.

What is comfortable for one may not be for another!!!

That sounds like a very comfy and pretty way to dress!  I don't like binding things when I am home and trying to do things!

@debic

Yes, I agree. And I am the same way with my hair.  I like it out of the way and up and off my face when I am busy!!!!

Several years ago I read a tip on here to wear scrubs for cleaning/cooking projects around the house.  Easily found at thrift stores and they work great!  Love all the pockets and throw them on over good clothes or weekend knockin' around clothes.

THank you to whomever it was that suggested them!

I know what you mean.  I don't find jeans all that comfortable for around the house.  I like wearing them to go out for doing outside chores but when I'm home, no -- can't do it.

@AngelPuppy1 - a few weeks ago I got rid of about 15 pair of zip up jeans - I just can't do them anymore - I wear leggings or pull on jeans.
