Re: What Is Your Favorite Laundry Detergent?

After trying the cheaper detergents, I always go back to Tide. I never use he (high efficiency) as it doesn't clean as well as regular.

All laundry detergents are NOT created equal, IMO.

I use Tide Free in white box. It has no scent and is for sensitive skin.

I buy whatever large jug is cheaper at Costco. They are all very similar IMO and I am not brand loyal. I used the Arm & Hammer with Oxy last time and that worked well. Now I have All Free & Clear and I like that, too.

Tide is my favorite although I've tried others. I usually have Tide Unscented, Tide with Bleach and Tide Mountain Spring on hand.

Amway. (now you can order online, and get it shipped to you -- no need to deal with those 'independent business owners'!) Smiley Happy

I mostly use Gain or Purex. And I really like Oxy Clean as an addition to the detergent. Tide breaks me out. It's very strange as I'm not the least bit allergic otherwise to anything. It also broke my dad out when he was alive. Weird.

Re: What Is Your Favorite Laundry Detergent?

I'm going to try the homemade powdered version of laundry soap soon. I heard it costs pennies to use per load and has excellent cleaning power.

I found the recipe online:

1 - 4 lb. 12oz. box BORAX

1 - 3 lb. 7oz. ARM & HAMMER SUPER WASHING SODA

1 - 3 lb. OXYCLEAN

2 - 14.1 oz. ZOTE soap (pink) OR FELS NAPTHA (grate finely)

1 - 4 lb. ARM & HAMMER BAKING SODA

2 - Bottles PUREX CRYSTALS (55 oz. bottles)

Mix in a clean 5 gallon bucket and then transfer into a smaller container. Use 2 Tablespoons per large load in machine.
