Every time I would burn a candle I would get a smokey smell with the scent. So I decided to try a lamp. No smokey smell, just the scent of the candle. My house isn't big, but I will turn on the lamp and smell the candle through out the house. I won't go back to burning candles again.

It seems this question gets asked every few months. A search of those threads may bring a few other suggestions.
I do like Root. With so many other brands it seems very hit or miss and dependent on the specific fragrance.

@rockygems123 I am new to the light thing....there was a lot of talk about these on another thread. I took @LadybugDG advice and bought a lamp via Amazon. I love it. The scent is the exact same thing. Except there's no open flame. The one I bought has a nice adjustable arm and a timer. I can do really small candles or the tall ones from Yankee Candle. The Slatkin candles that I have do not work. His smaller ones would. The Bed Bath and Bodyworks jars fit very well.

Well that sounds great thanks for the info.
We've had posts before about the lamps, think some were purchased on Amazon and will go look. ![]()

That sounds great. Do you have a particular one you'd recommend?

I'm not a big candle person but I warm Scentsy wax cubes all the time.

@rockygems123 the brand I bought was Marycele. I liked it so much I bought my neighbor one for Christmas. She loves it. Just depends on tour decor. Just search for Marycele Candle Warmer Lamp. Amazon has a lot of choices but this had the timer, adjustable arm, and non skid bottom. Came with an extra halogen bulb. Good luck!

There are several candle brands I use. I like them for different reasons, but there are also reasons why I dislike them. They all have their positives and negatives.
Homeworx:
I love the size and strength of these candles. Once I find a scent that I love, I will buy several of those because his candles can be hit or miss in my opinion. I have found plenty that I just couldn't stand or that were too complex in scent.
I also have found problems with the wicks not performing or the scent not being nearly as strong as promised. They also soot, even though he says they don't. I can't use the lid to snuff them out because the smoke gets trapped in the melted wax and that's the smell I get for the next burn.
Yankee Candle:
If this candle company could pull it together, they would be my absolute favorite. They have the BEST scents, in my opinion. However, they have made so many changes in recent years with their formulation and scent/oil distribution. It has negatively impacted their scent throw. Some candles smell literally like nothing. Their recent formula change has also impacted some of their classic scents that I have always loved. They no longer smell like the original scent. I keep trying, but I am often disappointed.
Bath & Body Works:
There are many positives to this brand -- The price is right (especially when they have their sales!) and the scent and throw are STRONG. This is another brand where I stock up on my favorites. There aren't too many negatives to this except for the fact that sometimes the wicks can peeter out when the candle reaches its half way point. They also have some strange combinations of scents. I usually have to go to a BBW store when buying their candles because sometimes what sounds good online is actually quite gross in reality. lol
Kringle Candle:
I have been buying their candles sporadically for about 15 years now. It's difficult to purchase their scents online because there is no actual store here. There is no way to smell them. I have found several that I absolutely love and buy faithfully every year. However, I always hesitate to buy new scents from them because I'm usually disappointed and these candles aren't cheap. I'll usually buy their "daylights" first so that I can test out a scent for much cheaper than buying the candle.
They have a beautiful and clean burn too. I am never disappointed with that.

Goose Creek - I like Balsum Fir and Forest Pine Trees. I am not a fan of food scented candles and I use a candle warmer also. Goose Creek packages the 3 wick candles beautifully and I have never had one damaged.
