Re: WOULD YOU LIKE YOUR HOME STYLED?

Big NO for me, as I don't want a styled look for any room in my home!

Some fresh ideas on how to live well in this small space might be helpful.

Re: WOULD YOU LIKE YOUR HOME STYLED?

It has been really fun to read all your responses. Some of us would be willing to allow someone else to make changes to our "decorator's eye" and others of us say "no thank you".

I am a control freak and can often think I know best. Haha! My husband asked me what street this woman lives on and I couldn't remember so I googled her. I saw that her house has been featured in a prominent magazine and I loved it!

So anyway, I did spend a bit of time this weekend rearranging things on our floor to ceiling built-in bookcase and different decor on the dining room table. Baby steps for change!😄

Re: WOULD YOU LIKE YOUR HOME STYLED?

I don't know about now but, back in the day when they were known as interior decorators/designers, they sat down w/their customers to discuss (long discussions) their likes, dislikes, what they were looking for, costs etc.

The talks can take severl days.  Samples have to get YOUR approval.  They do not do anything until you give them the FINAL approval.

From some of the responses, I gather the above is no longer done?

Re: WOULD YOU LIKE YOUR HOME STYLED?

I am very happy decorating my home and have been doing so for years.  I do get compliments which I appreciate but I decorate for me and it is my taste . It is also enjoyable!

I do not, however it's a good service for those who don't like to, or understand how to decorate.

I think it would be great fun if her service isn't too expensive.  I'm pretty happy with my own choices, but it would be entertaining to me to see what someone else would do with the same building blocks.

Re: WOULD YOU LIKE YOUR HOME STYLED?

Several times friends that visit our home have asked if I had a stylist do my decorating. Nope, decorating is my passion and I love to do it!

No I want my home styled with what I like (well maybe styled is not the right word, eclectic is probably the right word.)

This stylist uses what you already own, she doesn't add new items. It's to get a new look with same belongings using a different placement or arrangement.

It would be nice to have a different furniture placement in our living room but I can't do it.
