Thought this was fun-- designer Randi Garret's fanciful white, gold and blue vision of Christmas in Phoenix.  It's far more formal than my preference, yet an interesting, almost Hollywood Regency-type, French-influenced fantasy.

I'd like to tour such a house at Christmas time!

Her painting over the mantel is beautiful--

Attention to detail on the coffee table/ottoman, and a Christmas star--

A favorite Christmas cottage, bottle brush trees, and a cachepot with ornaments...

Candle-lit and bedecked entrance hall--

Interestingly, Randi said a little sheepishly, that red tends to make her a bit anxious, so she sticks to her year-round colors for Christmas.  Clearly, blues and golds are favorites.

She used to make a coconut cake as a family Christmas tradition-- now she shows how she 'prettys up' an Ina Garten coconut cake with flowers and herbs!

One of her favorite things-- ginger jars in all their forms--

Christmas trees and gingerbread houses intersperse with her chinoiserie collection on brass and glass bistro shelves--

Love that big gingerbread house!

Festive guest bedroom--

She mixes in classic Wedgwood with her other china, yay.

The hydrangeas are faux, from Amazon.

Very pretty combo--

Every year, I always ask--  do you ever use non-traditional colors at Christmas?  Or do you prefer red and green, maybe one metallic?  Love to hear.

I can go either way, while slightly leaning red and green team!  I must also have navy, and gold.  And my red is really burgundy, and my green is a hunter green...

Your preferences?

Re: WHITE CHRISTMAS IN ARIZONA

It doesn't have the "homey" look I'd favor for Christmas.  However, it's drop-dead gorgeous and elegant.  I can appreciate and love it without coveting it.

Re: WHITE CHRISTMAS IN ARIZONA

House looks to sterile for my taste.  Also, it's obvious a no children under 18 as well as no pets of any kind type of house.

That house is not a "HOME."

Re: WHITE CHRISTMAS IN ARIZONA

@Mz iMac ,  someone mentioned on the site, that she had five kids.  I think those are some of their photographs on the wall in the living room.

I tend to lean in your and @Kachina624 's direction as far as the 'feeling' in this house-- but, over time, just from looking at tons of houses, I've been surprised, and have concluded that even people who favor "high formality" in their surroundings, can yet be warm and approachable in the way they live.  She seemed that way to me.  But, to each her own.

I'd still love to tour it in real life...

Wedgewood, chinoiserie and ginger jars -- oh my!

I agree with @Kachina624 that this home is visually stunning!  I love the light colors, the decor, the accessories!  It wouldn't work for me, but I can certainly appreciate it.  I'd love to take a tour through this house.  It is absolutely beautiful.

@Mz iMac   There are pictures on the wall of children, so my guess is that kids do live there.  Very well behaved, orderly kids.  They probably have their own areas of the house where they can let loose and be kids.

edited to add:  Sorry, @Oznell , didn't mean to repeat what you said.  I was writing my post when you posted yours!

Those colors are so pretty together, but not for Christmas. I'm a traditional look kind of girl. However, that Wedgwood on the dining table is lovely! Could have done without the ruffles.

One thing really bothered me. The bed in the guest room. Way too many large pillows. They look like a storm at sea! Yikes!

Re: WHITE CHRISTMAS IN ARIZONA

This house is stunning. It reminds me so much of the gorgeous homes we Holiday Tour in Loveladies NJ....a beach town with breathtaking homes on the ocean and bay.

I change it up a bit each year as far as colors go for the Holidays.

Living on the water I tend to go for the blues and greens but have added a small amount of darker green and a very dark red this year.

I also add silver, muted gold, and bronze in small doses.

Re: WHITE CHRISTMAS IN ARIZONA

Beautiful decor, collections and elements. Yes, perhaps a bit too formal and 'pale' for me but beautiful nonetheless.

As for Christmas, I change up my palette yearly but using mostly things I already have. I like non-traditional choices, but also enjoy the more tried and true sometimes. Often, I mix the two approaches and somehow it works.
