I'm happy to see the rugs placed where they are used - right next to the cabinets/work area. All too often decorating magazines show kitchen rugs floating between work areas and too far away to be of use.
Maybe it's just me, but I want to stand on the rug while working at the sink or stove, etc.

I don't see any warmth! If you want stark white, fine. But why add warm colors, to me they clash.
My friend has a beautiful stark white kitchen, she uses cool colors as accents. And more importantly, the kitchen *look* flows with her dining room and living room. It's all one room. Her house is totally modern.
The design of the kitchen is off to me. I can't imagine having to load that dishwasher. Feel like it was misplaced. I rinse off dishes before they go in. So with the DW door down, how do you stand at the sink?
I don't get putting towels on DW or oven door handles. When you open them, the towels *puddle* on the floor. I want a towel to be clean to dry my hands.
And lastly, Ruggables--really? There are gorgeous vinyl mats that you can use that can add an element of interest. They keep your floors from getting wet, they are waterproof, can be washed or just wiped down for cleanliness. (Not knocking Ruggables, if you have them!) Just the blue they picked isn't warm---maybe that's a good thing....
I think the tea towels, jug with baby's breath, cutting board, etc. are really nice pieces. But, if they wanted a cold kitchen---own it!![]()

Beautiful kitchen @Oznell ! This is more my style than the gloomy dark kitchen in the other thread.

@Oznell ...........My mother born and raised in Ohio always called them tea towels too. The colors of the tea towels in this kitchen is pretty, but I use mine for anything and everything in the kitchen, so I buy just plain all cotton so they can be bleached. I love them they can be bought at Walmart or Amazon. They are very practical and that is what I need in the kitchen and inexpensive.

This kitchen does bring out fairly contrasting opinions, interesting!
@GingerPeach , so nice to see you! Have missed your great comments in Home and in TV, and Movies, for quite a while! Hope you've been doing well, and plan to stick around.
That's interesting, @Imaoldhippie -- I've occasionally heard Americans call them 'tea towels' too, and, come to think of it, they might have been Midwestern like your Mom.... bleachable towels is a good idea.

Hi @Oznell
Well, it only took me all these many, many moons to log back in. Good grief.
I've always enjoyed your posts in Home the most so (note to self) I should be reading them more often!
Speaking of kitchen towels, I find the name differences interesting. I've heard both "dish" and "tea" and also just "kitchen."
I just took a chance on some from amazon and was happily surprised. We're not supposed to share brands here, I think, but I can say they're made in Portugal and have rich color (no fading so far) and have a nice heft. 100% cotton.
I liked them so much I wish they made tablecloths but sadly not yet.
Apparently, graphic designs are the only option, no florals, etc.
p.s. I bought the blue ones.

Thanks, @GingerPeach , I love those rich-looking towels! Very handsome.

I like that it is a functional kitchen but it needs some warming up to me.

Nice kitchen and I would trade my dark tiny, little. closet- sized one in a NY minute. I'm not a fan of an all white kitchen--like the island tho and the decor was nice. can see changing out the color scheme often. LOVE the plate rack--I would have my many colors of fiestaware stored there.
