My family room looks very similar to the first one.  Same layout....floor to ceiling stone fireplace, windows in same locations, beams on ceiling.  Don't have as much furniture.  A very large sofa with ottman, side tables and a recliner chair.

I like the second one ... but would change the rug.

Love the first picture.

The second picture is a mish mash of a mess. Colors, stripes, prints, yuck.

I prefer the first photo, but I would need to change a few things. The tiny black ceiling fans and mirror on the stone fireplace must go. I need some window treatments. I would add a bit more color too. I'm not crazy about the slipcovers on the chairs, but what's underneath might be worse?

There are too many furnishings and prints I don't like in the second photo. Love the built-in and fireplace, but I would have to remove everything and start over.

They're both very nice, but I really prefer the second one. It looks more polished...but cozy at the same time.

I think I'd like to combine the two.  There are elements in both that like as well as elements I dislike.

#1 for me...the 2nd room is great too but I would have to remove the drapes, and get rid of a few more things to make it more airy.

I like both but the first one is similar to living room.  I like that one more
