Valentine’s Day Decorations Question

How long do you leave yours up? I plan to take the few we have down the end of the month. But then I started thinking - it's still winter, we have Mardi Gras and St. Patrick's Day coming up, and it's too early for Easter and Spring.

It's cold here. And we might get a coastal storm this week. The snowmen are staying out!   Smiley Wink

I basically just decorate seasonally.   While my Christmas decor has been put away since early January, my snowmen decor and candles are still out.   I was just having these very thoughts today as I am due for a good housecleaning this week so I was thinking I may switch over to my Spring decor.  Even though it's a bit early I have this thing about cleaning the house before I switch my decor out.   No one will know but us, LOL, I'll just wait a bit to change the outside wreath..........We are traveling  the very beginning of April and I don't want to have to work on my changeover in March when I'll be focused on packing!  I like to be ahead of the curve.

Re: Valentine’s Day Decorations Question

I usually don't put them up until the 5th or so of February, and since it's short-lived, and just because usually my flowers last at least a week after Vday...I just keep all Vday up until end of February. I enjoy the little heart lights, some in the bedroom, as nightlights and some in the living room, and also my Vday table setting, entryway and wreath outside.

I don't decorate much for St. Patty's other than the live shamrock plant I have out all year, a few of my Belleek porcelain peices that have subtle shamrocks on them, and a ceramic hanging shamrock piece outside my door, to replace Vday ❤️ wreath. ☘️

I put Valentine decorations away yesterday, was tired of snow so only very few St Patrick's day items are out. I have Valerie's wooden Welcome plaque with magnets and the heart in place of the O in Welcome Home is a shamrock. it's on the den door. Easy! The front door heart is replaced by a green wreath with Kitty willows and lighter green checkered bow.
Vases with silk snowdrops, and white daffodils large and small are in the kitchen and bathroom windows, living room and den and have been since the Christmas decor was removed.

Re: Valentine’s Day Decorations Question

The few things that I have out for Valentine's Day are going to be put away tomorrow.

I can't wait to put out leprechauns.  Our 55th wedding anniversary is March 14th.   We are not Irish.  Both of our Mom's were born in England.

Re: Valentine’s Day Decorations Question

I will take Valentine decorations down on Tuesday at work. I will wait to put St. Patrick's Day up another week. I would feel fine putting out spring at home now. It is so cheerful.

Re: Valentine’s Day Decorations Question

Some of mine are outside, so I'll have to wait until it warms up to bring them in. Hopefully, in a week, I'll take Valentines down and put out a few St. Patrick's Day things.

Re: Valentine’s Day Decorations Question

I forgot to display the few Valentine's Day item I have this year.  I don't do anything special for any other upcoming holidays until Easter, but I have the same question about Easter and Halloween.  How long do you leave your decorations for those holidays on display?

Re: Valentine’s Day Decorations Question

I have bunnies that are just white with no eggs so I will keep them out all spring and summer. If it is something that has eggs or just Easter, then it will get put away after Easter.

Halloween will start getting put away right after Halloween so I can start decorating for Christmas.

Re: Valentine’s Day Decorations Question

"Hallmark" type holidays only get decorations for a couple days.

I leave winter holiday decorations up from Thanksgiving thru New Year's.
