I'm confused by the 'by Valerie.'  I don't believe she actually designs these things.  It would be me like buying something in Hobby Lobby and presenting as 'by docsgirl.'  Speaking of Hobby Lobby, most of her things or similar items can be found at HL for a lot less $$$$$ and they always either have a sale or a coupon.

I make my own soap, cards, and candles so I can truly say they are 'by me.'  The 'by Valerie' seems a bit disengenuous as I believe she is just a rep for this stuff.  Just my opinion with nothing to back it up.Cat Wink     docsgirl

I must admit I love VPH and all the goodies and now with the Luminara TSV I'm in my glory but my husband shot me a warning look today and said last night the house looked like St. Peter's Basilica (i had ALL my Luminara lit) and he was looking for the altar to pray that I stop buying stuff from the Q....Bless his effort!! Woman Embarassed

I, like so many people love watching Valerie's shows. But I am wondering the last few times I've watched if the producers have told her to speed it up or do different things around the set-more like Jill does.

Maybe they thought she was too slow or calming? but thats what I love about her-I can watch without all the hyper stuff.

And some hosts seem to do better with her than others in terms of rushing things or talking really fast or giving too many updates when not really needed.

I think the "powers that be" think that fast and loud equals excited and enthused about products. REally, it does not. It creates the opposite to me-desperation, fake enthusiasm and makes me too annoyed to concentrate.

It was also strange when Valerie went over to a bookcase and Leah did not follow her-I wondered if she was trying to tell the camera men to follow Valerie or stay on her? I don't know. I too thought it was kind of a confusing show and I usually like watching both Leah and Valerie a lot.

I think whoever was directing just didn't get it right, but who knows.

@SammySiamese, How funny!  My DH would say the same thing.  When I've been on a QVC spree, day after day, he'll walk in the house, smile, and say "Every day is Christmas" as he hands me the package.  Of course, his idea of a shopping event is when he goes to Ocean State Job Lot.

I don't watch as much qvc as most posters do.  Haven't watched a great deal this weekend, but I have to say that I have no problem with Valerie giving me ideas as to what to do with different items.  Doesn't bother me at all, but, again, I don't watch a lot so I try to grab ideas in the short time that I'm viewing!!!

I have not been watching the Christmas shows, as we already have too much stuff.  But I did watch VPH today, and I will say my head was spinning.  Even showing the gingerbread village, it was back and forth with all the available options.  And so much Mercury glass and things that lit up.  Maybe there has been such a show and I missed it, but it would be nice to see some higher quality items (aside from Jim Shore) that would appeal to some who want "heirloom" quality pieces.  Mangers and figures made in Italy, for one.

I'd be happy with quality!

Valerie has always wanted to float around her set to show viewers the different ways her products are being used. Lisa M. would never allow it, and she chastised her for trying to do so. Valerie seems much more at ease, now that she does not get called down. I always enjoy the shows with Valerie and Leah.

@on the bay, I agree with you, especially with this evening's programs with Jill.  The pace was getting so frenzied that I had turned my attention elsewhere for a while.  However, I wasn't at all confused, I was annoyed.  I wanted to watch the entire show, so I didn't change the channel (I did order one item), but the speed of the presentations was truly irritating.  I'm sure that the producer's intent is to speed things up to create excitement and "hurry up and buy it before it's too late," and to ring up sales, etc., but tonight was over the top.  Maybe they had a rookie in the producer's chair, but it certainly didn't work very well in my living room.  I don't care that they were selling out of nearly everything; that's meaningless if they bring in artificially low inventory.

Not even the cameras were able to keep up.  And speaking of camera shots, QVC needs to do something about their remotely-operated cameras not being in synch with presentations in general.  Either slow down the presentation or speed up the camera work to keep up.  In the VPH show that followed Jill's show, the illuminated ginger jar came in three (or four?) colors, but you'd never know it because the camera didn't seem to make it over to the others.  The pace was just as frenzied, and at that point I did change over to another channel and didn't go back.  Enough is enough, even though I do otherwise enjoy Valerie's shows.  My two cents.
