OP - I often look at the pictures ladies post on this BB of their decorating for seasons or holidays and think they have a lot more extra income to spend on such things than I do.

Maybe we are just older and so have been collecting longer...

Re: VPH...So Many Decorating Ideas

I like to watch VPH shows and sets for ideas as well. Often I find I can use things I already have. I love Pinterest for decor ideas as well.

The nice thing about fall decorating is that (where we live anyway) you can get so many things for free out in nature to add to your vignettes. I collect up fallen leaves, acorns, and grow pumpkins and gourds that all can be brought into the house and mixed with the "everyday" decor like flameless candles and decorative cakes stands or pretty seasonal bowls.

I have made quite a few mercury glass purchases this summer for both fall and winter decorating. Much of it can be used for even all year. I was slow to get on the MG bandwagon, as I'm not a fan of the spheres at all. I have enjoyed the lit candle holders, the square lit candle holders and the pumpkins and gourds that are lit (Home Reflections are better than VPH in my opinion). I just got my lit pinecones and little pumpkins, and quite frankly they aren't very nice, as they have almost no mercury glass effect on one side of most of them, and they are too expensive to have to fuss with and turn so that the "bad side" doesn't show, so they may be going back.
