Of course, I see vases everywhere, and there are so many to beguile.

Came across one of those end-of-the-year-type articles that posit "the best vases of 2023".   As if!  But they are fun to check out.  A few that made the cut--

This one from Terrain is undeniably pretty--

This squiggly glass one from Agmes is amusing--

Pearl River's vibrant florals were another 2023 choice of theirs--

And in the modern, white category, they chose this whole West Elm collection below:

Hint-- see the chunky, paper sack-shaped one in the right hand corner?  Walmart has been hugely successful in producing an almost EXACT duplicate, sitting on Walmart shelves as we speak, which sells for less than a third of the West Elm original.

Here's a guy I didn't put in the thread, but what an artist, Charles Catteau.  He trained at legendary Sevres in France, but then did interesting Art Deco stuff for an outfit named Boch Freres--

He was known for deer motifs, among many others....

@Oznell oh my goodness I'm so glad I opened this thread! Like you I love vases, jars, pitchers LOL all kinds of things.  As you say the price of that first one took my breath away but hey it is beautiful and if someone can afford it, that's wonderful.

thanks for sharing the photo of the Belleek shamrock vase. I hopped right over there and ordered it. I may keep it or it would also make a nice gift if I decide to give it away.

I have that Lenox vase. It was my Mom's and is often on my table - even w/o flowers. Having 2 cats makes fresh flowers in the house a challenge as I can't risk them poisoning themselves. When I have fresh flowers the vase & the flowers have to fit inside the cabinet!

So many lovely choices!

How great that you got that "Field of Shamrocks" vase, @GinaV24 --  it is so charming!  Hope you love it.

I used to have a little more Belleek, but currently just have one large bowl.  You're right, Belleek does make a really good gift, since it is so neutral, yet distinctive.  My Belleek bowl blends really well with the one piece of Wedgwood creamware I have-- the "hound" pitcher.  Here's an image of it I found online--

Really, all the creamy off-whites look so good together-- I bet the vintage Lenox vases look good with Belleek and old creamware too...

Lucky you to have inherited those, @traveler .  McCoy is one of my all-time favorites.

@Oznell Oh I love the Wedgewood pitcher. That's gorgeous. I agree that the cream colored pieces make it easy to work with them in whatever you are arranging. They play with other colors too.

I appreciated you pointing out the Belleek vase because I would have missed it if you hadn't.  Of course I started looking at all the things on the Terrain site and oh boy, I did some window shopping by putting things in my cart but not saying "go". LOL

There are a couple of things that are still on my mind that I may go back and order but right now, I'm being good.

Right now on my table I have it setup for St. Patrick's day with a green/white plaid runner and my Lenox vase, a Lenox sugar & creamer along with a couple of candle impressions candles with butterfly motifs (they are from years ago). I put out my Mom's aqua/cream china. After St. Patrick's Day, I'll take off the runner, leave the pink tablecloth and add the pink glasses and ta da, it's spring! LOL I figure I collected all of these things over the years, why not have fun with them?

Love the way your St. Patrick's set-up sounds, @GinaV24 , and then the transition to spring.  So pretty with all your ravishing pastel colors, and festive!

I'm the same, I love to play with what I've got, move them around, rotate different objects in and out.  It's like toys for grown-ups, or playing with giant chess pieces-- endlessly fascinating to try new combos, etc.

@Oznell - In looking at glass artists, I rediscovered Josh Simpson, and he also does vases. His website is joshsimpsonglass dot com.

I have one of his "planets", which is not a vase, but an orb. I do like his "Inhabited Vase" collection, however. Below, is one of them.
