The room is to busy for me. The ceiling reminds me of a merry go round when I was a kid.

I think it's something you might like for a week or 2 but then regret sets in.

I can actually see a room with a painted ceiling if that is a look you like.

But, this ceiling and this room just do not  compliment each other well at all.

Well then again, actually the more I look at it, a lot does not complement anything else here period. Just too many design influences in one space. I mean what is it... modern or traditional? And, what is that awful color doing on the walls and the trim work both - why is the pretty trim work not being brought out with a contrasting color?

And, looking again - WHAT was some one thinking with that ceiling design for this space again??? Oh, yes I do tend to go on sometimes... 😀

I don't know what makes people take something so traditional and almost elegant, and throw modern/eclectic on top of it.

Pick one or the other, but the two element mixed here don't work.

@lolakimono

wanted something different when we added a great room to the back of our rancher.  We did the same when we added a master suite on years later.  Very warm and cozy despite the height:

I love everything about the room except the ceiling.    I don't have white ceilings in my house but the swirls, circles & colors in that room is too much for me.

Eclectic.

The whole room is, as others have said, too eclectic (and cluttered) for me.  I do really like the ceiling but it's not something I would have in my home.
