UGH.....Left Tissue in Load of Dark Clothes

Have you ever washed clothes and forgot to check the pockets for tissues?

I've done it in the past, and always say to myself that I will NEVER let it happen again, and what happened today.......I opened up the washing machine and had little pieces of tissues that looked like confetti scattered all over my load of dark clothes!

I took a brush and brushed the clothes the best I could, then vacuum the floor, put the clothes back in the wash again.  Still some particles remain, so now I have them tumbling in the dryer for a little bit before I take them out to let them dry the rest while hanging.   What a mess!

Have you ever done this?  Misery loves company!

You might try a white vinegar rinse. Some times that helps.

Re: UGH.....Left Tissue in Load of Dark Clothes

Recently had an upper respiratory infection with a great deal of coughing.  Well, many of you must know what happens to us older women when we cough a lot.  So I had to resort to my stash of Poise pads that I only use when really sick and coughing a lot.  Fast forward a few days to laundry time and in my haste to gather all my clothes to put in the washer, I neglected to pull the pad off one of my undergarments.  Wow!!!  What a mess that made in my washer and dryer.  Of course, my grandkids were visiting and I had put of load of their clothes along with mine in the machine.  I was picking off lint like crazy.  Had to resort to the sticky roller that I use to pick up cat hair.  Rewashed some of the darks that were a true mess.  Won't be making that mistake again.

Ugh is right, I have a drippy nose and have had this happen a few times.  It is a mess to clean up.

I do this a lot as I have a bad nasal drip from fall to spring (sorry...TMI...LOL!) so I always have tissues stored in pockets.

I just throw the load in the dryer and it gets dried and goes into the lint trap w/ very little actually left on my clothes.

@BunSnoop   That's the WORST!!!  Drives me crazy whenever that happens.  I don't typically carry tissues, but my mom has them stuck in everything!  Never fails that I miss one from time to time.  Sometimes I've even had to totally wipe out the washing machine and just run a load with nothing to try and spin out the extra remnants.  Ugh, I'm sorry that happened to you today.  It is terrible to deal with.

I've used clear packing tape to remove lint and hair from dark-colored clothes. Cheap.

No, I don't put tissue in my pockets, but DH has then doesn't check his pockets.  I've had pens, springs, and tissues.  He gets to clean that up!

I have a rather drippy nose also.  I have resorted to using paper towels, raather than tissues.  Much less "damage" if I forget to take one out of my pocket.

Have dealt with this more often than I will admit.  Somehow, even checking pockets beforehand, one gets a free ride in the washer and celebrates with lots of white confetti!

I usually pick off as much as possible and then put the laundry in the dryer on low, stopping the dryer a few times during the drying time to clean the lint vent out.  The dryer does remove most, if not all, the lint.
