good luck, try cleaning the counters and cabinets around where you cooked with pinesol or something like that.

Reminds me of the time I made latkes from scratch, the house smelled for weeks, never again

If you simmer a pot of either lemon water or vinegar water at the same time you are cooking the fish product, it will help take care of the food odor.

Thank you, red top. In fact, my DH said he googled something about the odor that said to do this. I've never heard of doing it, but it does make sense. Perhaps I'll go put some vinegar on the stove now and see if that helps after the fact. {#emotions_dlg.biggrin}

By chance we just had scallops the other night. House still smelled bad when I came home yesterday. Central air, no open windows. To mask it temporarily, as when someone is expected over, pour bleach toilet bowl cleaner into the toilet and let it sit for 15 minutes. At least your house will smell like bleach instead of fish.

Thankfully, dep, no one is coming over today. At least I hope not. {#emotions_dlg.crying}

As 2 folks commented above about boiling lemons you try the same with cloves and cinnamon sticks in water.

While your windows are open, leave the fan running on your airconditioner if you have central air.

I leave my fan going even if the air is turned off to circulate the air.
