What if the tree dies and you're left with just a dumb big hole in your ceiling with a dead tree?

A big green grasshopper landed nearly in DS 's salad , from the tree in the restaurant atrium.
He hopped away quickly before we could get a picture.
I like the look of trees inside but would definitely go with faux rather than live.

Maybe in a commercial building but I suspect it may make it very hard to sell if it was someone's home. Also nice though, if you lived in an warm area where a courtyard could be used year round.

Cats would love it.

Some of these look very impracticable-roots growing too large etc.
But once when we were looking at houses, there was a group I loved so much designed by a local designer architect.
Before you actually entered the house, there was a small courtyard with a
tree and it looked like part of the house because of the way he put the walls and partial brick ceiling above it. You could see the sky and felt like you were in a secret garden.
It was a smaller tree and the whole thing was beautiful.
It also overlooked a man-made "lake"
that I loved. We never got that house
and I guess a good thing, recently hearing that they have had many problems.
Then in the same town, there was a major city building with trees on top of the roof and this one too overlooking a beautiful lake.
I thought that was a great building.
So yes, I do love the concept but I think you would have to be really
knowledgeable about what tree and where and how to build around it.
I do like the first picture
Thans for these, so interesting!

NOPE to all of them.
.. and for all the reasons you mentioned, plus, they're just not practical. Even if someone does like them, think about visitors and possible allergies & asthma problems, such as yourself and others.
Thank you for sharing once again.

All lovely until the roots start pushing up the floors, or it dies and needs major excavation to remove it.
Same reason I don't like trees too close to the house. When they decide to come down, there goes the house.

Not a fan.

I think its beautiful and would give you a sense of tranquility and peace. However, I would not have it in my home because of bugs and other creepy crawlie things.

They're all pretty but it's not something I would want for myself.
