I love this concept. I know this wouldn't be to everyone's taste and many will object that it might be hard to clean, or it's too dark, or something, but if I had this, I'd enjoy it every day.

The article about this Vermont home says:

The flooring is locally sourced stones collected over the years from the Lake Champlain area. “The stones are smooth to the touch and are therapeutic to walk on,” state the homeowners. The console table is a repurposed exterior balcony railing that is topped with a stone slab.

I wonder if they ever "lose" the dog?  He's well camouflaged. 

I don't care for the blotchy effect.  I'd like it will lighter colored stones.

I would also like it with lighter colored stones.  I could see how the floor would make your bare feet feel more comfortable.

Although it's attractive, to me, it looks difficult to walk on. Eventually, I'd probably trip on the raised pieces Lol. I think I'd also use a little darker color for the grout, maybe a gray rather than white.

I like it very much and in the right setting it would be beautiful.  I do agree with @Desert Lily  and would prefer a darker grout.

The story behind the sourcing of the stone makes it more interesting.

I was once in a hotel for a day and the bathroom had a similar floor, likely not as well done but it was miserable to walk on. This is likely better tho.

Beautiful floor.  I'm not usually a fan of the black/white combo, but this is really nice!

I don't care for anything in this entryway.  The floor makes it look creepy to me.  Doesn't look warm and inviting.
