Re: The S/5 Natural Candle Rings (Rosehill)

Well, the realistic flame type candles are really out there now. I saw some on Kirklands site just now, and I think they are using the same product video as the Mystique. Again, they use AAs. I think I would be happier paying a little more if necessary to get the C or D battery pillars. With tapers, it has to be AA or less, so that's understandable.

I think I am going to return these rings.

If anyone is on the fence about the Natural set, you may want to take a look at these pics I took:

Edited to Add: That is a CI 3" x 6" candle that I used just for taking the photo. I would definitely prefer using a 3-1/2" candle in these holders.

I wanted these to work, but there is just too much plastic-look and I can't disguise it, especially in this ring, which doesn't have the magnolia-like leaves.

SHOPR, I agree, it does look too plastic. For the price, I'd probably return too. Maybe there's better somewhere else. Thanks for posting the picture, it sure helped me decide not to order.

lucymo, I appreciate your honest opinion. I will probably still be out $21 (8.95 return fee plus original s&h, which isn't refunded) but I just don't think I can live with them.

That S&H is a real bummer, because you spend the $$$ and have nothing to show for it. I'm really surprised at Grandin Road, most times their merchandise is good. I have an order coming of the Long Ear Owls. They looked too cute and I got free shipping so hoping they will be good quality. I'm so sorry that this didn't work for you.

Lucy, If I had any forethought of having to return these, I would have bought them using a free shipping code, not a 25% off (but paid full s&H) code. I hope your owls are just perfect. I've seen Marsha's photos of two of the other candle ring sets, and I think they looked nice, so I guess I just chose the wrong style. Of course, others receiving this particular style may like them just fine.

Re: The S/5 Natural Candle Rings (Rosehill)

I'm so sorry that you dislike these so much, SHOPR. I remember back in the spring when I ordered the ones with flowers that I chose that style because reviewers didn't like the spring/summer ones without flowers, saying they looked too plastic.

Is there any chance you could add a couple of leaves or pieces from one evergreen pick to the the one ring you hate and make the set work for you? I just hate seeing you lose that much money.

Re: The S/5 Natural Candle Rings (Rosehill)

I just received the winter berry candle rings. They are very pretty, not all the same, as shows in the site picture, and I would say a few could be placed directly on a table or counter, as they don't have the really long tendrils/leaves, and one has an apple. They can be adjusted, and a 3" candle fits nicely within with some extra room, but a 4" would not fit.

Re: The S/5 Natural Candle Rings (Rosehill)

Marsha, All 5 rings are full of mainly the glossy plastic looking pieces, with few of the acceptable leaves and pine cones to help disguise the others. I'm now resigned to the fact that it was just a poor purchase that will be returned.

I do remember reading all those reviews on the Spring green set that I also wanted. I'm undecided at this point which sets I may eventually order. On a positive note, I am pleased with the fullness of the set, and still haven't seen anything made quite like these elsewhere.

mousiegirl, Thanks for letting us know you are pleased with the Winter Berry rings. Sounds like they were a good choice.

That's so disappointing, SHOPR. I love the fullness of the ones I've received because they create lush-looking decor without much effort.
