for one probably silly reason. They kept the Santa mostly unpainted, so he didn't have his usual red coat. That seems lazy to me. Like they wanted to minimize how much paint they had to apply to each one so they went, "Hey, this Santa will have an ivory coat." Uh, no. Did that bother anyone else?

Usually Lenox's porcelain ivory style ornaments have only touches of color., but I do see what you're saying.  In comparison to some of the colored details on the other ornaments in the set, his coat does seem a bit unfinished.

One of the trademarks of genuine Lenox products is that they're mostly the off-white Lenox porcelain with just a minimal amount of coloring. Now, if you're not buying them as a collectible, you have the ability to paint them up however you wish. (Truthfully, their value as a collectible is fairly minimal these days, so it's not a huge issue.) A fine brush and some craft paint made for ceramics, a bit of time and you can paint them however you wish.

My ornaments are "out for delivery" so they should arrive today!  Can't wait to check them out in person-they looked adorable during the presentations.  I love red mittens, so they caught my eye and I did notice the white coat on Santa.  I thought it looked like they were emphasizing his mittens and the tree-I don't know-we will see

Update:  I love mine!  Each ornament has its own beauty!

Having his coat red wouldn't have been "Lenox" to me.
