I know exactly what you're saying @Kachina624... The bones of this room are actually pretty simple. A different floor and some different furniture would give this space an entirely different flavor...

I'd love the luxury of a sun room, fabulous. This one has the bones, but for some reason it does not have the restful feeling I require. On reflection, I think too many harsh, graphic lines going back and forth. For once, I'm not crazy about exposed rafters in this example. They're fighting with all the hard iron furniture, the bold striped pillows, oversized graphic floors.
I enjoy black and white, esp. marble, but would have the traditional 12 by 12 tiles here, not blown up ones. Would furnish this more like a comfy room that "happened to have" plants, with less hard, explicitly garden type furniture. Would have a seagrass rug for coziness. Love the unobstructed light, the banana leaves and orchids!

I love most of the elements of the sunroom but it's just a bit over done for me. The floor is dizzying with everything else the room has in it.

Absolutely Fabulous - if I had this space, I'd never leave.

@Oznell The room in a bit of a paradox. I like it as it is, but would also like it were the vibe more consistent. What I mean by that is had the structure better supported the more 'elegant' choice of flooring, pattern and furniture or had the flooring, pattern and furniture been more in keeping with the structure... As noted, I do like it as it is, but would also have liked it with less conspicuous flooring and perhaps more 'cushioned' and less stark furnishings in a pretty floral print, among many other choices that would work... This is a room you could definitely have fun with...

I like a sunroom, and also like this big space, but mine would not look like this!

I really like this room. I like the drama of the black n white large scale flooring. The cushions on the furniture look thick n plush. Pretty plants of all different types in different pots, and I love the floral lamps. I even like the seagrass side tables. Love all the windows and the rafters and the greenery outside.
Yes, I would be very happy if my back porch area looked like this. Mine looks shabby chic compared to this.
