Re: The Color Gold....Is It Really Back

The color on the wall gives the room an old dated feeling.

I am not a fan of rugs in general, so I would get rid of all the rugs and have wood. If I loved the gold, I would add a few more touches here and there and accent with it.  The walls and rug were overkill.

Yellow, not mustard, is on my trusted color palet.

But,   I.  Am.  So.  Tired.  Of.   Gray. 🥱

The walls look like a mustard color to me. I don't care for the blue/ gray color of the sofa at all. I don't think a pale gold has ever been out of style...I especially like a pale gold with almost any shade of blue

@godi  To me, there were a lot of charming things in this room. I would probably go a few shades lighter on the walls but it definitely looks like someone put  things they loved into it. It's not cookie-cutter...instead...it reflects someone with a passion for things they like. I think there is something to be said for that!

Re: The Color Gold....Is It Really Back

I think "they" (Designers, etc.) are trying to bring back the gold but there are still too many of us around that remember the colors from the 70's and I for one do not want gold ever again!  Now I love tans and taupes and whites but harvest gold and spring blossom green can jump in a lake.  OH, and yellow.  OMG something happens to me in a yellow kitchen and it's not pretty...... Woman Frustrated

@Boomernichols  Jaundice, I think!  Yes, the color would have to be much lighter for me to "love" this room. I do like many of the items of decor.
