Table Scape for the Coffee Table?

I've seen pics of your really great dining tablescapes here but I need suggestions for a table scape for the coffee table.

I have a large oak dark finish mission style coffee table. Glass inserts on the top and a full length shelf underneath so a lot of useable space. I 'live' in my place. Nothing pretentious or faux anything. Altho we don't eat in the living room, I will take a coffee, beverage, etc to watch tv.

Living room is Up North/Cabin style. No doubt when you walk in my place, you're North! {#emotions_dlg.biggrin}

I love real candles but beyond that, I'm stuck. {#emotions_dlg.confused1}

Any practical ideas? TIA!!
