I really like what she has done to the house with the exception of the stark white furniture covers.  Too harsh.  But I really like the zebra striped chairs.  If you plan on staying in the house for a while I guess the situation could work as long as you don't have expectations as to what the owner's future plans could be.

Geraniums are a funny choice for Tucson.

If the couple did the work themselves, painting the floor probably didn’t cost much.

Re: TUCSON RENTAL HOUSE

[ Edited ]

I love this and I love that she went to the expense to be happy where she "might" want to live.  Had she not done the renovations and updating, she might have "hated" Tucson but having done this, she felt comfortable and it kept her busy while trying to decide if she liked the town well enough to perhaps build and/or buy something she might one day renovate.

With consent of the owner, I have redone many things in many rental units.  If you move around a lot due to careers, you don't ever get to own until you retire so if you want to be happy where you are planted, you just take a few risks and don't live with regret and fear.

Living in substandard government houses on a government instillation where all the houses look alike, and never sure if you next assignment might be in a war zone or where, you take some risks because you took a risk when you signed up for this job.  LIve and let live.  Don't die regretting the things that made you happy..
