Re: TRADITIONAL LONG ISLAND COASTAL HOUSE

@Oznell I was immediately taken with the floors in the foyer.  There is much about this home that I love but the wall to wall carpet would have to go.  I could live in this home but it would not work for DH.  S

Re: TRADITIONAL LONG ISLAND COASTAL HOUSE

Great point, @Lilysmom1 .   I wondered about that rug too, since a wall-to-wall treatment is not typical of her style.

Then I noticed in the third picture, with the white coral, where it appears you are stepping down into the living room, you can see over by the step on the right, that it is not a fitted, wall to wall carpet.

Also, in the close up of the chocolate chairs, the carpet does not go all the way to the walls.

Am guessing she had that textured carpet custom cut to go almost to the walls, but that it is not a fixed feature, not attached.  More like a "giant" area rug.

But like you, I would have liked something less 'expansive'!

I love this, some of it is a little too fussy, but overall I really like it!

I like the foyer and bedroom.  Don't like the table w/the chartreuse lamps or the green colors.

A lot going on in this house.  A little cluttered for me.  The chandelier over the table has got to go.  Not what I'd pick out or how I would decorate but it's nice.

It's a nicely done, nicely appointed house if almost painfully predictable. A fair amount of visual appeal and yet a lot of things I'd choose to revise.

Some of the furnishings and colors aren't my style. I usually like green, but I'm not in love with this shade of green, and there's too much of it in the living room. I don't like the bedroom wallpaper or window treatments.

I love the floor in the foyer. Gorgeous! It's a beautiful space, but I don't think the ginger jars on the floor are necessary.
I also like the family room and the dining area in the kitchen, but I don't like that chandelier.

@Oznell

Overall, there's much to like in this home .. the openness, some of the furnishings, etc.  Some of the style is a tad too formal for my taste though. My favorite room is the breakfast room EXCEPT that awful chandelier.   Love the chaise lounge in the bedroom & the colors. Thank you for sharing.

Re: TRADITIONAL LONG ISLAND COASTAL HOUSE

I especially like the living room and bedroom in this one. The only thing I don't like is the chandelier in the breakfast room.  I just found it to be a bit  too heavy looking.
