That's how designer Beth Webb describes it, no more specific than that.
Love a stone houses with deep rooflines-- looks like a country house in France--
The house has a quite "clean" aesthetic. Not a lot of frou- frou. Also relies more on textures and finishes than color.
Personally, I do naturally gravitate to more color, but see the calm, cohesive beauty in this.
The sky lights bring lovely light. Wow, that bowl shows how one art glass piece can have major impact.
The heavy mirror, much of the lantern lighting, and iron accessories bring more of the hint of France--
There really is a river view!
Beth Webb has a way of combining the strong, with the delicate, as in this exquisite vignette--
Intricate little powder room--
How neat that they tucked a small office in the turret!
Could not imagine a more comfortable bedroom:
Sweet stone pup surveys the river--

Interesting, but a little too stark for me overall, and some of the furniture isn't my taste. I like the powder room best. The oval window above the sink is very pretty, and the eating area with the stone fireplace is nice.

Handsome, but a bit predictable and on the bland side. I do like the outdoor dining chairs quite a bit.

Gorgeous...but does need more color to me! Just my taste...But I prefer colorful ceramics to clear glass for decor.

Me too, @JYWilliams , and @vermint -- exactly, more color I think would bring it to the next level for me.
And I'm more of a pottery person too, but for some reason clear glass has been appealing to me lately-- must be all the ice I'm seeing, gack!

This house is lovely...calm, pretty, great flow , everything I like. The neutral color pallet with the black accents is perfect.
I also like that the home compliments the area. It looks like it was designed for that location in Tennessee.
If I had to change one thing it would be the furniture in the Living Room. I am not crazy about the sofa and chairs.
Both Dining Spaces are my favorite areas...indoor and outdoor.

Another beauty! We seem to appreciate a lot of the same elements in decorating; artichokes, greyhounds, vessels made of stone, etc.

@Oznell I love it. I would change a few of the pieces of furniture and add some color. Not crazy about the wallpaper in the powder room. Love, love the outdoor dining area. I do like the neutrals.
I looked into a possible sunroom or patio enclosure or addition. Yikes. Wayyyyy over what I thought it would cost. I'll just have to settle for a possible redo or update to the current deck. Not at this age. Maybe if I was 35, not 65.
As always, thanks for sharing these homes and rooms. I enjoy them so much.
