Hmmm, no. Between the rounds and those niches filled with small odd stuff.  I would of stuck with the rock all the way to the ceiling without any niches at all. Why would you put niches on a fireplace anyhow to me, it already has a space to fill with something when not in use for a fire. Definitely a busy little corner going on there!!

@lolakimono  The wood reminds me of wine bottle corks, ugly.  The only item in the room that is fine, is the rock hearth.

The chair, coffee table and curtains look like they could be pretty nice, but that ridiculous fireplace surround just make the whole room a non-starter... Yes, absolutely Hildi-esque, and from what I've seen, I'd only put the Novogratz a few steps up from her in the decorating skills category... I'd never, ever, ever hire either her or them, not even to decorate an outhouse...

Contrived and those ugly curtains are the exclamation point! How a busy, jumbled room can look sterile at the same time I don’t know, but this designer managed it.
