Years ago one of the designers on Trading Spaces hung the bed from the ceiling. It might have been the one where he used a toilet for the bedside table.

I think it's a unique look.  I also think to make it practical, the swings should be stationary.  To do this they would have to use a material that mimics the chain or rope (or whatever they used) but is neither flexible nor "swingable".

 

Aside from messing up the island with scuff marks, it would be nearly impossible to eat on a seat that wobbles all over the place.  However, I do appreciate the unusual and completely un-boring concept.

No - that's just dumb.  Leave the swings to the outside area.  I want a seat that stays in place when I am eating.  I don't want to have to worry about falling off of it when I am eating my scrambled eggs in the morning! - LOL!

You value solitude ( not Your fault if nobody wants to stay long in those wooden swing sets!)
