I've not seen this in a kitchen, but I have seen them in bars.  I'm not a fan.

@LizzieInSRQ   Just the concept is great idea. I don't have the home or room for anything like that. But I do like the look, it's creative. With a proper real seat, one that is functional. It would be useful to be able to go up to high counter and then down. Or in the living room as an art piece of furniture.  Just sayin. But I wouldn't want to fool around with the electronics of it. Upkeep and all
