For anything wet on hard wood floors you need to make sure your floors are sealed. You can easily ruin your floor putting a lot of water down.

I use the Swifter mop with the supermarket wet pads on my wood floors. I clean the floor with a dry pad, before using the damp pad. I use a gentle touch mopping.

that is what i do,too!

Anyone know if Don Azlett products are sold in a B&M? I've seen Bona at Walmart. I need to ditch my Swifter as soon as my present supply of pads and cleaner are gone - I don't really see that it cleans that well.

i agree! i don't use if for ""serious cleaning""! i use when in a hurry to just pick up a little dust on the floor when a mop is not needed. and for a quick little boost of scent. i love the lavendar/vanilla scent wipes!! makes a room smell so nice when used. same thing with their ""dust and shine"" polish.

I use Swiffer and love it's ease of use and it works great. The package says not to use on unfinished, oiled or waxed wood floors. Mose wood floors these days are either engineered hardwood or waterproof finishes. I have regular hardwood floors but with a Swedish finish making it ok to use water on it. Good luck with your new home.

I have a Swiffer mop that I like and use it on my kitchen and bathroom floors. I personally think it does a fairly good job. For WOOD floors, I've used the PLEDGE Floor Care for wood floors, squirt and mop. This leaves the floors beautiful! Use with a DAMP mop - just follow directions and your floors will be beautiful.

Doesn't the Swiffer line have a formula for wood floors, seems like the bottle is yellow instead of blue.

Thank you all for your great suggestions. What I forgot to say is that I am looking for the easiest, quickest way to do this. I too have the older model of the Don Anslett mop and currently use it on tile floors. I did go to the Swifter website and found for wood floors they suggest the Swifter Sweeper, the Swifter Wet Jet and the Swifter Sweep & Trap. I will check their pricing at the store.

My whole house is sealed hardwood floors. I have a border collie that sheds like crazy. I use a swiffer, swiffer vac and a shark (I use distilled water with it). So easy, cheap and no chemical smell or worry about ruining my wood floors. HTH

I have seen the floors. They are genuine hardwood floors. I don't know if they are sealed but I have bought a Swifter Sweeper Extra Large because there is a lot of floor area in this new apartment. The new tenant upstairs said she borrowed her son's Bona to clean them and it done an excellent job. I am not familiar with Bona. I will be careful about using excessive water on these floors. Perhaps I will use the slightly damp Anslett mop head as suggested.

The new swifter mop that is also a sweeper is a piece of junk, IMO
