Just got this year's Easter basket.
I like to buy him here; the forum discussion is a plus. Lovely posters keep us informed about recent offerings so I try to support him here.
I think its quite ironic how people post the heck out of this place, complaining about QVC prices, shipping, whatever. You see the same posters all over the forums which are provided by the Q.
The forums provide me with offer a lot of wonderful information in addition to letting me know about great finds here and elsewhere.
Not saying we should blindly pay exorbitant prices & shipping but there are deals here if you look for them. I'm willing to do this.

He does the original carving and painting and then it is mass produced in China but so are many other vendors at QVC whose products are made in China. It is beautifully hand painted so maybe the Chinese have the ability to do this part of the production better than anyone else. I remember once seeing a ring up close on television on QVC that had China stamped on it. Its very hard today to escape that.

I always thought that Jim Shore was on very early because that's the time when most people who like his stuff wake up in the morning.

I do collect Jim Shore pieces. And although you can buy his items in many places, including his website it's still nice to see him and hear the stories that inspired his artwork. And he does do some exclusive pieces which are only available at QVC.....or sometimes QVC comes out with the pieces first before they start appearing elsewhere. So I do like to shop at QVC in addition to his website and a local collectible store....
Sadly I think QVC has put the collectible type products on a low priority these days, even Valerie Parr Hill has come out with a lot of home type items (ottomans, lighted mason jars and globes, lamps, even dinnerware and serving pieces, and furniture while the figurine type pieces have declined.....

Jim Shore is one QVC vendor whose wares are sold in many places, including his own website, for the same or similar prices or even less. If he stops appearing on QVC it's not like you won't be able to find his merchandise or it will suddenly cost twice as much. I have bought several of his pieces for gifts, all from his website, at very good prices.

This is a revised updated. I purchased a Jim Shore ornament at another dealer. I still think he is viable especially when he continues to introduce new things to QVC. I will continue watching his shows.
