Re: Subtle but Luxe Master Suite

Interesting, but this is one of those rooms that, for me, the more I look at it, the better I like it. I'd consider changing out the decorative objects above the bed and possibly the small benches at the foot of the bed, but even they seem to work well with the overall scheme. I love the bed/headboard, like the paint color and find all the other elements increasingly to my liking. I also find I like the overall pale colors used and don't at all miss the absence of some more vibrant color or colors. Not every room in my home needs that proverbial pop of intense color and where better to enjoy a more tranquil scheme than the bedroom. This is making me think about how I might tweak my own sleeping space.

The mirror and pictures need to come down above the bed.  Heck, they are almost reaching the ceiling.  Maybe the mirror would be okay.  This room is nothing special but it looks comfortable.  I do not like the lamps they selected for each side of the bed -- too high -- too white.  Something different is needed like a crystal base (not ornate but smooth).  Pottery Barn usually has some nice lamps.  I purchased 7 or 8 years ago a crystal base with the silver pole that goes thru it with an off white linen shade plus the best part is it has a built in dimmer.  I think the shorter one below would look nice in the bedroom on each side of the bed.

I absolutely love the wall color!  Lovely room.
