Style Called Rustic Farmhouse

Why We Love This Look: There’s nothing that’s as transporting as a rustic farmhouse dining room. It immediately brings to mind a charming countryside home. The mix of traditional furnishings and vintage-inspired elements and colors make it a gathering space that instantly inspires ease and comfort.

It begins to appear that any room featuring a big chunk of wood of any kind now qualifies as 'rustic' and any room featuring any version of ship lap or a slat back chair qualifies as 'farmhouse'... Whatever...

This is a modern rustic. What a beautiful room. I really like it. I love the long widows. You get  lot of light, and a pretty view. I also love the contrast of black, white, and wood. It's so pleasing to the eye.

Both of these are nice rooms, but I do prefer the first room because of the lightness of the room and the view out the window. Thank you for sharing.

Not anything I like, and also "farmhouse?"  I've seen a LOT of farmhouses and honey, that ain't it!  Woman Very HappyWoman SurprisedWoman Wink

If you are a true traditional rustic fan I could see where this wouldn't appeal to you @stevieb . I like a more modern edge to it, so it appeals to me.

I only commented on the first picture. I need to see a different angle on the second picture to comment. So not sure about that one.

That doesn't look rustic or farmhouse to me.

Both rooms might well have some appealing elements, I just find the description a bit of a misnomer.

I really like that style---if I would ever get my own place that is how I would want it. with a few tweaks here and there, of course
