DH just bought a 100% wool blazer. I buy the cedar blocks on hangers and hang his suits next to them. Somehow one of his favorite wool blazers had moth holes in it, and I'm worried the same thing will happen. 

Can anyone give me any other ideas? Should I get the balls and put them in the pockets?

Cannot stand that moth ball smell. Put blazer in 100% cotton suit bag that zips all the way around. I found out the hard way that the cedar chips/ blocks did nothing.

I store wool sweaters and skirts, scarves, gloves, etc. in large plastic ziplock type bags with silica packets.  

Sounds like the cedar doesn't work - there are lavender products too. Or use the silica packs in the pockets.  Even use both.   Then seal it in a plastic bag - even a large plastic trash bag or dry cleaning bag.  If he has other wool blazers get them dry cleaned and do the same thing with them.  Anything else wool in the same closet too. And  you should treat the closet.  With spray.  Or moth balls.   Or Terro makes a moth killer.

I read about the silica packs in Parade Magazine years ago - they really work as they keep the area and garments dry.

I wear a lot of wool clothing.  From experience I learned that you must never store wool without it being 100% clean.

A food stain that you just dabbed clean or spot cleaned will attract wool eating bugs. Moths and silver fish can even get into a cedar chest.

I put silica gel packs into a closed breathable garment bag with my clothing.  The silica seems to help and doesn't have an odor.

You might consider emptying the entire closet, and disinfecting the WALL

and FLOOR surfaces

Ugh - that's terrible!  I would go with the silica packets,as well.  I already read that you have to keep wool items really clean, so after every wearing they have to be cleaned.  

Years ago I lost quite a few good wool clothing items, as well as cashmere and angora.  I no longer buy any of these things. Too much of a hassle and trouble.
