So beautiful, but not practical, in my mind.  Like others, I'd be constantly worried they'd get damaged.

 

I wonder if there's a cupboard or some kind of opening under the stairs with a light source that would shine through them?  The dark wood is lovely.

Love the stained glass on the front of the steps.

Last year I had the carpet on my staircase removed -- and had grey shaded planks of porcelain tile put on the top of each step --- and small colorful pastel rocks placed on the front of each step. Gorgeous.
