I few years ago I woke up and felt something crawling on my face - freaked me out! I swatted at it and went back to sleep. I had little itchy bites on my cheek after that. Well, then a few days later I saw this big spider on the wall in there and think I must of stood there for a few minutes staring at the thing before I grabbed a sneaker and swatted it to death like it was going to get me. Well then, in another few days there was another one on the living room wall and I totally freaked and swatted it to death until it started breaking up into pieces. I had no idea where they came from or what kind they were. I had never seen spiders of that size, let alone outside but in MY house! You talk about sleeeping in the guest room for about a week after that - it's like the room farthest away on the other side of the house! I guess I turned into that crazy lady like when I see a snake...😉!!

I don't mind spiders.  I actually think they are interesting, and I do even let them roam in the home (within reason).  There was one that kept coming into the powder room from under the toe molding that did bother me (it was a big wolf spider).

No, my house does not look like the Addams Family!  I just love ecology.  All things have a purpose.

My DH freaks whenever he sees a spider, no matter how small.  I simply "capture" them and put them outside.  I see no reason to kill them.  But I wouldn't leave any near my bedroom either.  (Other rooms I'm not bothered about.  Even had one that lived in my shower for a while!)

Spiders also have their purpose in this life.

Let them have their purpose in someone else's home. Crawl into mine and you're gone real fast.

I am scared to death of spiders, but I try to kill them right away or else I will worry about where they are . I know it's silly, but everybody is afraid of something.

Run, do not walk, to your nearest hardware store and get some Miss Muffett's Revenge.  It's a spray (one for inside; another formulation for garages/outside.  Do it once and all creepy crawlies are gone gone gone for a year indoors / garage; six months or so outside depending on if the spray is exposed to rain or in a more protected area.

Ever since we moved into our new place 18 months ago I just realized how I never, ever have spiders in the house anymore. My old home, it was a usual event to see a spider here and there. Maybe the spiders don't like lakeside living? Thats my only explanation for why I don't see any anymore. #happydance!
