First of all... nancypoo, do I have your permission to ask strangers about flooring here? Gee, I wouldn't want to post inappropriately. Sheese.

Anyway, we have Brazialian cherry flooring downstairs except for our bedroom which has carpet. One of our cats pukes in there a lot. Yes, he's been to the vet.

Although we have it cleaned annually, I still think it's gross and want to replace it. Plus you can see the puke stains. In fact, I think carpet is gross period. Problem is our cherry has been discontinued and our carpet place said they didn't recommend trying to match it as it's almost impossible to do.

Our furniture in bedroom only is mid 19th century so a lightish finish with a few 'knots' here and there. Do you think it would look OK to put in lighter floors to blend with the lighter furniture? The bedroom is down a hallway with the cherry and they would 'butt' up to each other.

Thanks.
