Those dreaded "palmetto" bugs aka roaches (thank god I have none but have seen those creepy creatures😳)

Alligators -  hmmm Fish & Game Alligator Trapper was here today capturing our "sweet resident 10 ft. friend" today from one of our ponds...apparently, he was a nuisance to the golfers😳!  He visited our back yard a few weeks ago...I'm sure there are more...

and other stuff...LOL!!!!

@homedecor1  I visit one or twice each year. That's enough. You've just mentioned a few of the things that state is not big enough for them and me to live in harmony!!

In that other post I said the RAISED our HOA $17not we paid $17. I specifically said - we voted to raise it $6 but when the payment coupons came out it was $17 and the board just went ahead with the $17.

We have lived in Fl. 8 years now & I've only ever seen one Palmetto bug.Spent every summer of my childhood in Fl., never saw one then either.Like everywhere - you keep your home clean and have the outside areas sprayed and store food properly you will not have insects.

The one palmetto bug we got came in a bag of peaches DH bought from a farmer. Killed it with wasp spray and have never seen another one.

Yes grew up in the suburbs of Phila and all neighbors helped each other out, not in Calif when I lived there. some neighbors would repair cars in the front of their house, welding with sparks flying (had no rain for 3 months so it's dry also we had wood shake roofs which any spark would cause a huge fire) add in the dried up lawns too. Not all neighbors were like that but we had it with whatever color they want to paint their houses. In Az. we have certain colors, beautiful bike paths, parks & swings for the kids, very well maintained neighborhood. My nextdoor neighbor lost their house due to bankruptcy and the bank took over, then the neglect of lawn so the HOA got on them & they had to maintain it, you don't want overgrown anything with the critters & makes the neighborhood look bad, house sold to a wonderful couple with young kids. Living in the west part of this country is so different than the way I grew up. I don't think you can buy a house without an HOA around here no matter what town you live in  Some HOA's are expensive some not so much. We only pay $35 a month but think it may go up. Before buying 1st question is how much is the HOA?

Now the rain has stopped all the neighbors are out on the street asking each other what they are going to do.It's crazy.Still no response from the manager to our request to clarify the email. As far as I am aware no one from the HOA board is in town - none have been seen since this e mail came out. It's just crazy here.
