Anyone find it odd that the Solare candles disappeared at the same time that the Luminaras returned?

How strange. Surely all the back and forth disappearances and reappearances are a result of business at Q, but what about the customers who like both brands? It doesn't seem like good business to have things just disappear with no notice or explanation. You'd think they would have learned that lesson already.

When brands disappear from store shelves, does the store always give an explanation as to why? No. So QVC is no different. It just happens.

So that's why Luminara was gone -- a turf war? Or, perhaps QVC signed on with Solara when they knew they had to stop selling Luminara for a while (for whatever reasons). Strange they wouldn't continue both lines to give more choices. I have Luminara candles and love them. Purchased Solare candles during the "hiatus" to give them a try and did not like them. The "3-D flame" sat too high up in the candle and was big & obvious; to me it looked like a knob, so I had to return them.

Caaareful Shopper, There is a lawsuit filed by Luminara. I don't know what it has to do with Solare, if anything, but here is the link just FYI:

I like my Solare candles up on the wall in sconces. I can only see the top half (or less) of the big bulb. I really like them, but have to agree with you about the bulb being big and obvious if I were to place them in lower areas.

I understand your point. The forums and their FB pages were inundated with What happened to Luminara questions and comments. While Solare won't have that kind of following after such a short time, surely Q could avoid some customer frustration by adding a brief note of explanation on the website that appears when a customer searches for Solare.

Very interesting...thank you very much for the info SHOPR. Smile

I would guess this has more to do with a turf war than a lawsuit. The company named in the lawsuit does not look like it makes Solare. I've googled Solare, btw, and they have some other beautiful options on their website that QVC never presented. I hope they come back.

Hopefully they will return. I will find it a bit humorous if they come back after a same length disappearance as the Luminaras. Not sure why, but the war strikes me as odd and funny.

I bought the Jim Shore cardinal candleholder with the attached Luminara candle. The Jim Shore tag says ""Jim Shore licensed by Bethlehem Lights."" So does BL make Luminara?
